Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, many of our students face the challenge of coming to class without proper winter clothing, which can affect their comfort and focus during the colder months. I’m requesting warm jackets, hats, socks, and gloves to ensure that every student can stay warm and feel comfortable, both in and out of the classroom. These items will make a direct impact by allowing students to stay focused on their learning rather than being distracted by the cold or the discomfort of inadequate clothing. When students feel physically comfortable, they are more likely to engage with lessons and participate fully in classroom activities.

The goal of this project is simple: to provide students with the warmth and support they need to succeed, no matter the weather.

With the right clothing, students will be able to concentrate more on their studies and extracurricular activities, without the distraction of feeling cold or self-conscious about their clothing. This project also aims to foster a sense of belonging and community—when students feel cared for and supported, it boosts their confidence and motivation.

What makes my students special is their resilience and determination. Despite facing challenges outside the classroom, they come in every day with a positive attitude, ready to learn and grow. They are eager to succeed and providing them with these basic necessities will help remove barriers to their success. With your support, we can ensure that every student has the warmth they need to thrive academically and emotionally throughout the winter months.
