This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I Magnet and STEAM prep school located in Watts, CA. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are filled with creativity and curiosity. I strive to create an environment with active and engaging learning experiences that fosters students passion for learning. My students are self-motivated and exciting scholars that are ready to tackle the future!

My Project

This project was created to provide students with a comfortable classroom library. As a second year teacher, I don't have many books that represent my students and their community. I strive to create an environment in which students have access to high quality text that promotes EQUITY, DIVERSITY, and INCLUSION. These supplies will help students develop a love for reading through books that are meaningful and relatable to their daily lives.

The importance of a good book is crucial to students success!

Through your generosity, I will be able to continue fostering a passion for reading. These items will be a great addition to our classroom library!
