This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our preschool students come from a low income area where many face challenges even before they enter the classroom. Many of these children, do not have to skill set to regulate the big emotions they have at times. These emotions can range from happy to sad to angry to frustrated. Some may not even exactly know what they are feeling.
Children need a safe space to regulate their emotions.
We currently have a cozy cube that serves as our safe space but we need items to make the cube homey and relaxing. I have also included sensory items to help calm children as well as emotion examples to help them express their emotions. Please help me give my children the tools to learn and practice how to self-regulate themselves.
