Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Creating a comfortable and flexible learning environment is one of my top priorities. Right now, our classroom rug is too small to accommodate all of my students during group lessons and activities. I’m hoping to replace it with a larger rug so that every child has space to sit comfortably. In addition to the rug, I want to introduce flexible seating options like a mini sofa and seat cushions, which will allow students to choose spots where they feel most focused and comfortable, whether working independently or with a partner.
Another important addition I’d love to bring into our space is a cozy canopy corner.
This would be a special area where students can go to read quietly, take a break, or calm down when they’re feeling overwhelmed. Creating a dedicated space for emotional regulation and quiet reflection supports both learning and well-being, and helps students feel safe and supported throughout the school day.
By enhancing our classroom with these flexible and comforting elements, I hope to create an environment that feels more like a community space, where every student can thrive, grow, and feel at home. Thank you for considering supporting our classroom!
