This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their huge hearts and even bigger imaginations. Every day, they bring their full selves—joy, energy, curiosity, and sometimes big feelings they’re still learning how to navigate. I want to create a classroom that supports not just their learning, but their hearts.

Creating a Cozy Corner is essential in classrooms—it’s a calm, safe space where students can breathe, regroup, and express their emotions freely.

Whether they’re overwhelmed, need a moment to reset, or just want to reflect, this space will be their go-to for emotional support.

Each item in this project plays a meaningful role:

• Emotions books and posters help them name and understand what they feel.

• Markers, pens, pencils, and paper offer creative outlets to express their inner world.

• Bean bags, a weighted animal, and a tent wrap them in comfort while they self-soothe and reflect.

Thank you for believing in the power of emotional wellness and supporting our classroom. You’re not just giving supplies—you’re giving students the tools to feel seen, safe, and supported.
