My Students

I teach third grade in a high-poverty school in Georgia. One hundred percent of students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are diverse in academic ability, socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and life experience. They are excited about school and love learning new things. My third graders particularly love Science and being able to conduct experiments and learn about the world.

I want to provide my students with the best education possible.

We need partners like you to help us get these resources into our classroom.

My Project

My students are in need of cozy uniform jackets that we can store in the classroom. Our third grade classroom's temperature fluctuates from being frigid from the A/C in the fall to feeling like the Arctic in the winter because the thermostat cannot be adjusted appropriately. It's so sad to see the little kiddos stuffing their arms inside of their shirts to stay warm because they don't have uniform appropriate jackets.

This creates a HUGE problem because children can't learn if their basic needs are not met.

When the children are cold, they can't concentrate and become irritable. With these fleece jackets, the children will be warm and in mental space to learn! Keeping the jackets at school will ensure the children can use them every day and they won't get lost or forgotten at home.
