This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Kindergarteners will use sensory tools/toys to "take a break" in our Calming Corner, then get back to learning. Their emotional wellness is just as important as their academic success. They also need alternative seating so they can get their wiggles out and be successful academically.

In order to maximize learning recovering from COVID lockdowns, we need certain emotional and sensory supports in place.

Our fluorescent lighting is too bright. We need to minimize lighting and use softer lamps/bulbs so that our students that have sensory overexcitabilities can be successful.

We will also take play/brain breaks so our mind and body stays healthy!

We will be much more comfortable in our classroom, using these resources. Thank you for contributing!
