My Project
Thank you for considering supporting our 1st Grade classroom! I am seeking your help to provide a high-quality, comfortable classroom rug that will serve as a central gathering place for my young learners. This rug will be so much more than a decorative item — it will be the heart of our classroom community.
I teach a diverse & enthusiastic group of first-grade students who arrive each day eager to learn, share, and explore.
At this age, movement, comfort, and a sense of belonging are essential components of a productive learning environment. My students benefit tremendously from structured routines and spaces that support collaboration and focused attention.
A classroom rug will provide my students with a dedicated, organized space for our daily morning meetings, read-alouds, group discussions, independent reading, and so much more. It will help define our classroom community space, giving students a consistent, comfortable area where they can sit and engage with one another and with the lessons.
We do not have a large rug, which makes it challenging to gather as a class in one spot. Having a rug will improve classroom management, provide clear boundaries for personal space, and contribute to a calm and welcoming atmosphere. It will also support social-emotional learning as students build connections and routines together.
This rug will become the center of our classroom — a place where learning comes to life through shared stories, math games, partner talks, and celebrations of student success. It will help meet the needs of learners, particularly those who thrive in consistent and comfortable spaces.
