Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 6 year-old first-grade gifted students would love this cozy corner as a learning zone, or calming center! I would love to create a safe place they can have to go to help them succeed.
This would be an amazing contribution to our classroom as we can use it in many different ways!
We love to have more intimate and cozy story times gathered together as a class and this can be a place to go. Students can also use it as a calming corner if a student needs to take time for themself, this can be a great attribute and a safe place they can turn to so they can take a moment to reflect and relax.
As a learning zone, if students want to play an educational game, practice their spelling/high-frequency words, do math flashcards, or simply read a book, having a separate center in the class can help them have somewhere to do those activities, whether it's alone or with a friend. They would absolutely love their learning zone, and having one would encourage and motivate them in their academics as they would want to be able to visit it more often!
