Cozy Book Nook

Help me give my students the tidy, organized classroom library they deserve! The book display shelf and flexible seating will provide my second graders with an area where they can comfortably read and really enjoy a good book!

My Project

My 2nd grade class is currently located in the basement- I want to give them a homey and comfortable place where they can relax and curl up with a good book. An inviting area with a nice display and flexible seating will increase student interest and ultimately achievement, creating lifelong readers. I plan to use the bookshelf to display seasonal titles and the students’ favorite books and authors for easy access. Many 2nd graders are still learning to read, and these items are the perfect way to give them the opportunity to practice their reading skills and interact with text!

My current basement classroom lacks shelving and the storage necessary to properly display a vast library.

These items I’ve carefully chosen will provide the class with a cozy book nook that will hopefully spark an interest in reading, and will give them a place to read independently as well as with a partner!

The book display shelf and flexible seating will make our basement learning space more comfortable and inviting! I want to be able to provide a space where the children can relax and read! They deserve this!
