Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of Kindergarteners who come from diverse backgrounds. My students attend a title 1 school in San Diego, many who are English learners. I would love to create a love for reading by making a cozy welcoming reading area. My students would benefit greatly by having a safe and fun place to read in the classroom.

My Project

These materials will help my students become excited about reading and hopefully create a love of learning and reading. I want to create a safe and cozy place for them to feel confident and comfortable enough to pick up a book and read. The students would feel so appreciative to have a fun reading place in their classroom. My class currently independently reads at their desks or the carpet. If I create this space the students will be able to use it as a literacy center and I depends reading.
