COVID-19 Resources

Help me give my students headsets with microphones, binders, privacy shields and more for interventions and resources to support them academically as they recover from the many effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

My Students

I work with students who have disabilities ranging from specific learning disabilities to significant cognitive disabilities. Each student is unique but they have all been affected by the school closures, staffing issues, and medical illness related to COVID-19.

These students were already at risk due to their disabilities.

The impact of COVID-19 on their education has created even more distance between their abilities and the abilities of their same age typical peers.

In spite of the best efforts of their teachers, many did not respond well to online learning. Their grade level instruction was directly impacted as a result.

My Project

These resources provide accommodations and modifications for students whose disabilities affect their learning.

These students, who were already at risk, were severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and need support to progress along with their classmates.

The headsets will allow those students who struggle with writing the ability to utilize speech-to-text technology and complete classroom assignments more easily.

Hands-on math materials allow students with disabilities to learn mathematical concepts in more concrete ways.

Those items related to daily life activities will support our cognitively disabled students who are learning adaptive and life skills.
