Covering the Essentials of Kindergarten!

My Students

My students are loving, curious, motivated, and creative! Students range from five to six years old in our classroom, and for many, this is their first real school experience. We offer bus services that bring students from all over the city with different backgrounds and challenges. About ninety percent of my students come from low-income families.

Although my students are exposed to different learning strategies and are constantly learning, they need hands-on activities and a safe environment to focus and emerge as strong readers.

By having this extra support, we will be able to provide them with opportunities to meet their needs.

Different learners and different students bring their own process in how they work and think. I want to offer my students opportunities to expand their thinking and challenge them to think academically and creatively.

My Project

The materials selected will help maximize student's science knowledge through the books that will cover the concepts we will go over this year and the following the years.

This project will also cover the social-emotional piece of learning as young kindergartners by giving the students doll house families and furniture to interact with and through as they play.

I have an empty doll house in the room that needs families that represent the students and furniture for the students to pretend with the doll families.

The last part of the project will give my classroom a refrigerator to hold their milk and snacks to keep cold. It's important to keep their food and drinks cold so it won't go to waste and be able to give the students safe foods at school.
