Today’s students face many problems in today's world that, often, they are unable to cope with. Sometimes this turns into fear and anxiety. Part of teaching students to manage their emotions is to have tools readily available. Calming strips, squishies, and pop-its are all discrete tools students can access in their classroom. Students will be given these tools to use in the classroom when they are feeling anxious, angry, and nervous. The costumes will be used to help students perform short plays in front of their peers to help conquer their fears.
Teaching coping skills to overcome fears and manage anxiety is crucial.
