Help me give my students lessons of courage and resilience through reading different genre in the Scholastic Magazine. Students will enjoy reading the short stories about courage and resilience through non-fiction and fiction stories.
My students are a diverse group of 6th graders living in Cleveland. These students are passionate learners who enjoy reading books. However, we have been on-line learning for most of the school year. These students have persevere through remote-learning. Trying new ways to learn to learn concepts and discovering new ways to research information. We will be returning back to the classroom in a few short weeks. Students are excited to return to school to continue their learning in person with their peers and teachers.
My Project
This has been a year of courage and resilience. Students will read stories of courage and resilience though a variety of genre, including fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Part of the collects of courage and resilience includes a play that students can act out in class.
Hopefully, students will be inspired to by the stories of courage and resilience.
Students then will write about how they showed courage and resilience during this past year while surviving the pandemic.
Students will be able to share their stories with the class, their parent and future family members.
