This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students learn so many new concepts in first grade. They need a lot of different manipulatives to help them master math their math concepts. We are in need of more unifix cubes because we currently do not have enough for each student. This box will allow every student to have their own set of 120 cubes. Unifix cubes are the best way to help them solve math problems. They help not only students who like to learn visually but students learn kinesthetically.

Students learn the best when they have manipulatives to help them solve the problems.

Students move from learning how to count by ones to counting by tens. Using unifix cubes helps students transition from counting by ones to tens because they can visually see how the ubes group together in tens.
