it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first grade scholars are working on their numeracy skills. They are collaborative and come to school daily excited to learn. They thrive in scenarios where they can work together and discover thing as a community of learners. I am hopeful to implement an organized system of items for a mini counting collection library.
Scholars are able to develop their number sense through counting collections.
During this time they sort, organize, and count various objects. Activities like these develop their use of cardinality, as well as help them discover strategies for counting. Our youngest learners are doing algebraic functions without realizing it in first grade!
