Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I currently teach at a school-wide Title I school; as such, all children receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite the lack of resources and challenges students face on a daily basis, they are an energetic and enthusiastic group. They come to school each day eager to learn new things and apply the skills they have been taught. Due to limited funding, certain materials and resources necessary to enhance the curriculum are not readily available to them. To help my students sharpen their numeracy skills, I would like to provide them a comfortable space and different manipulatives for them to count. Many groups of students will use the rug and manipulatives requested for years to come!
