This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think," ~Albert Einstein once said and I agree.
I work with a large culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners.
I work with students with autism, students with specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, and students who may benefit from small group interventions. Close to 90% of students are eligible for free or reduced lunch and about 60% of our students are English language learners.
My Project
These assortment of beads, bean counters, counting bears, cubes, and stickers will be used to count. My students will be given a specific amount of objects to count. I will guide my students to group their objects by 2s, 5s, and 10s. Counting objects will help my students develop 1:1 correspondence. By having my students count, they will learn to count, add, subtract, and multiply.
Please help my students by contributing to basic counting collections which include an assortment of beads, bean counters, counting bears, cubes, and stickers.
These resources will help them develop math concepts, will be ready to learn, and become lifelong learners.
