This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come into the classroom every day full of life, ready to learn and excited for what is in store for them that day. I teach at a Title I school where 93% of our students receive subsidized lunches. Our school serves students in grades PK through 8th grade and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment

They are dreamers, thinkers, talkers, and questioners.

They are mini inspirations to themselves and others around them, even though they don't know it yet. They are the future, and I want to give them the best start I can in school.

My Project

The teddy bear counters will be a wonderful addition to our classroom. They allow us to work on sorting by different attributes. We are also able to work on creating patterns with the teddy bears.

Pattern blocks help our students use their imagination to create pictures out of different shapes.

Because my class is made up of 4 year olds, we learn best by touch. They love having different means to show what they have learned. The pattern blocks help my students begin to use their imaginations.

We use the teddy bears and pattern blocks to help us work on math concepts that we have learned.
