This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently teaching a pre-kindergarten class at a Title I low-income school in Los Angeles, CA. This year will be uncertain as most students return to in-person learning. With the many obstacles low-income students face daily and lack of resources at home, going to school and having the supplies they need will make this year full of fun and lots of learning. With their unique knowledge, abilities, and personalities, my students will need motivation every day to learn and grow academically and socially.
Every child in my classroom enjoys learning, despite the various methods and environments in which they learn.
In my classroom, we use a variety of learning strategies, group work, and learning modalities to ensure that each student's needs are met and they reach their full potential.
My Project
My preschoolers come to school every day eager to learn. They are the most exciting group of children to work with, and the most loving. These young scholars amaze me at how quickly they learn and how much their developing brains can handle. The lack of manipulatives and materials in my classroom makes this project all worthwhile.
The colorful and fun counters will increase my students' motivation when engaging in a math lesson.
As we currently use cubes and links for counting, having a variety of fun counters will increase student engagement.
The dry erase paddles will help during small group instruction and throughout our day.
