This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our fifth graders will be taking the state assessment test called the STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) test in Spanish. They need to build their test stamina by practicing taking full length tests similar to what they will experience on the real assessment.
The data available to the teachers from these practice tests will allow them to focus on the specific skills that students still need to master.
It will also give students a feeling for how the actual test will be in their native language to alleviate test anxiety.
