Help me give my students hands-on math materials like number puzzles, Play-Doh, and sensory tools to create engaging and fun math centers that build number sense, early math skills, and a love for learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how curious, energetic, and eager to learn kindergarten students are. Every day, they walk into the classroom full of wonder, ready to explore and grow. At this age, learning happens best through hands-on experiences, and math can be especially exciting when students get to touch, build, and play while learning new concepts.
The materials I’ve selected like number rockets, puzzles, magnetic numbers, and Play-Doh will allow me to set up engaging math centers that make abstract skills feel concrete.
These resources will help my students build number sense, practice counting, explore place value, and develop problem-solving skills in a way that feels like play but builds real academic growth.
With these tools, I can reach all kinds of learners, especially those who need movement, creativity, or visual support to succeed. Every item in this project is chosen with the goal of making math fun, accessible, and meaningful for my young students.
