Counselor Room Supplies for Kids at My Title 1 School

Help me give my students what they need. I am the 4-5 counselor in the largest Title 1 school on the island. Many of my students come to school hungry. Some need fidgets & incentives to succeed.

My Project

Aloha,

My name is Mr. B.

and I am the 4th & 5th Grade Counselor at the largest Title 1 Elementary School on the island. Despite our current free breakfast program, many students come to school hungry since they were unable to receive breakfast before class starts. When kids have empty bellies, it makes it difficult for them to learn and be settled & successful in the classroom. Many often come to my office just so they can get something to eat. Further, most of the times that I get a child who is "dysregulated" it is because they hadn't had anything to eat... not even dinner the night before. Having extra food on hand will greatly help those children.

Also, we have a large number of students who have ADHD. The fidget bands and toys that I am requesting will go toward help those kids stay settled and focused so they can be more successful in the classroom.

In addition, I conduct Art Therapy sessions with certain students, especially for those needing Grief Support or those who are dealing with trauma. The art supplies that I have requested will go toward working with those students.
