Counseling Tools

Help me give my students therapeutic tools to support them in school-based counseling. We need therapeutic tools, including a bean bag, sand tray, and diffuser to support students in the counseling setting.

My Students

All of my students need individualized instruction in social skills in order for them to be successful in school, at home, and in life.

My dynamic group of students has diverse social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Each student in my classroom is very unique and requires individualized support and resources. However, all of my students require instruction in social skills. Teaching students social skills allows them to learn strategies to manage frustration, make and maintain friendships, manage emotions, and accept help and support from others. Thank you for taking the time to review my project! My students and I appreciate your time and support!

My Project

Our special education department has a new social worker to provide school-based counseling for students with emotional disabilities. This donor's choose project contains critically needed supplies including a bean bag chair, therapeutic posters, an aromatherapy diffuser, books with calming strategies, and therapeutic putty. These materials will support a minimum of 36 students in three different special education programs. Materials will be used to support students in whole group counseling, small group sessions, and individual sessions. Students will use these materials to learn new skills, practice coping strategies, and take a calm down break.
