Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's only the second year our school has had a counseling program. Our community has such a high need that we were granted a second counselor this year to help meet the social-emotional demands of our students. The social skills and anger management board games, along with the workbooks, will teach our students how to be a good friend, and prepare them to respond to conflict appropriately and autonomously.
The donations for this project will help provide a safe and comforting space for students to express themselves, seek help, increase their emotional intelligence skills, and support the counseling curriculum using bibliotherapy.
Students will be able to focus more on academic achievements when they feel supported from within and are able to express their needs. With the help of play therapy (sand tray/table, tent, spot dolls, etc) and role playing (games, groups, and individual sessions) our students will be able to do just that!
