My Project
Hello! My name is Coach Parker and I am seeking funding for a traverse rock-climbing wall for our K-6 Elementary School P.E. program, located in Kansas City. The rock-climbing wall will measure 8 ft. x 40 ft. for ample amount of traversing and exploring.
Our elementary is a Title I school that serves underprivileged students in a diverse community.
Many of our students do not have access to outdoor exploratory equipment or experiences. This rock-climbing wall will provide students with critical thinking skills, as the wall itself acts as a puzzle that fosters problem solving while traversing. Students will sequence gross and fine motor skills that translate into activities in and out of the school environment.
My goal for this project is to provide my 400 students with a piece of equipment that will last a lifetime in our gym, and develop a love for lifetime physical literacy. Here at our school, our P.E. philosophy is to develop students into socially and emotionally responsible members of society, evoking sportsmanship characteristics in all facets of life.
Thank you for your time and support. Stay positive. Show kindness. Get moving!
