My Project
Our theatre program is a transformative experience for students, offering far more than just an opportunity to perform. Despite our 11 consecutive years as the Virginia State Theatre Champions, we continue to struggle with funding production costs, especially for essentials like costumes. The program provides our students with more than just a creative outlet—it offers a safe space where they feel loved, supported, and accepted.
For many students, this program is a lifeline.
It allows them to gain confidence, build important life skills, and become part of a community that celebrates their individuality. However, many students would not be able to fully participate without access to the necessary costuming items. These costumes are vital for our upcoming production of Beetlejuice Jr. and for ensuring that every student has an equal opportunity to shine.
Specifically, we need custom costumes like Beetlejuice's iconic striped suit. Lydia Deetz’s dark attire, including accessories, are also essential for her portrayal. These costumes not only help students step into their characters but also foster a sense of pride and accomplishment. By providing these items, we ensure that all students, regardless of their financial background, can perform at their best and contribute to a high-quality production.
