Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Dallas ISD is committed to ensuring equity at all schools. Therefore, dance is being offered for free at all the middle schools! This is a really important at our primarily disadvantaged schools because most of the students' families cannot afford expensive dance classes. My largest 6th grade dance class is performing in December, and for many girls this will be the only dance recital in which they get to participate.

As a community service project, my Dance Team is preparing the costume materials that my other dance students will use to make their costumes, which the girls will get to keep!

The Dance Team is busy cutting and glueing, and even learning to sew a little, so that the 6th grade dance class will have costumes to wear in their performance during the Winter Show in December.
