This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are hard working, young dancers who are finding a passion for the arts: specifically dance. These dancers are coming into a program that has no costumes or props to use. As a teacher, I believe performances are a very important aspect in the arts world. For this reason I have in house, as well as, away performances scheduled for the upcoming year. We are looking for funds from the community to help us put costumes to the dances we would like to showcase. My students are very excited for this upcoming year for the changes we have planned. These students really put in a lot of effort to master their art and passion of dance but we lack the funds to complete our overall performance. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and definitely put to use in our dance program .

My Project

All these costumes already have a dance choreographed and in the process of being cleaned. We just need help getting the funds to purchase these costumes. My dancers have put on showcases in t-shirts and leggings, but have not performed in full out costumes in years. Part of taking dance is dressing up, putting on make up, getting your hair done and showing the audience what you've been working on. My students will feel better about themselves and motivated to share their talent if they looked the part- costumes. I am a new teacher whose excited to share my passion of dance with the students, but I would love for them to be able to get the whole experience with costumes for our upcoming performances.
