My Students
When we received the news in March that school was closing we were expecting a short three week break. I thought this was best for safety reasons, but I never imaged that would have been our last day together in our classroom.
I have been struggling to meet with all of my students virtually, due to various reasons beyond my control.
My students are all from low income families with multiple children and limited resources. Most can’t afford technology and if provided by the school some don’t have internet access. Out of 21 students, only 7 have been able to meet for virtual class regularly.
My Project
As a teacher, I want to do everything I can to help my students achieve academic success. Please help me continue to help my students by providing them with resources to use at home while we’re getting through this COVID-19 pandemic. Louisiana is still under quarantine and my students are not able to leave their homes. These boys and girls need resources to help bridge the learning gaps that are getting wider due to the time lost from school.
These Summer Bridge Workbooks will give parents the tools they need to help assist their children in becoming successful for the remainder of the school year and into the summer.
