This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have almost 600 middle schoolers and we need more resources in the gym for more games, especially during the winter time when we are all inside and cannot go outside to play. Cornhole is a new game that we have never taught our students before. We think this would give them a great introduction to the game of cornhole teaching them the rules and how to be a good teammate and also using their math skills to keep score. In the past, our students have loved games like badminton and Pickleball. Cornhole will be another great addition to our PE department. Our life skills students will also and able to enjoy this game and we can make great accommodations to help all kids enjoy and win. We also have a field day at the end of the school year and we could use these cornhole sets as a station for our middle schoolers. We have a Titan family night twice a year where families come and see our school and also come play games in the gym. Cornhole could be a fun game we could set up for our Titan family nights. We would be so grateful if these sets could be donated to our school, as I feel the students will go home and talk to their parents about what they did in PE and it might be a way for families to consider getting a cornhole set for their home so they can play together, too. Not only do we want to build strong students at school but also stronger families and communities. Games like cornhole are fun, lifetime games for people of all ages and skill levels to enjoy.
