Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is a Title I school. My class consists of 12 students who have intellectual disabilities. This class focuses on academic, career, and essential skills. Our classroom is a mix of students with different abilities and grades varying from fourth to fifth grades.
Although our kids are frustrated on many different levels, I strive to create a supportive classroom for each child.
A classroom that is fun, exciting, and encourages exploring and learning.
My Project
Our blended learning students have been at home learning via a computer or tablet for the last year. Unfortunately, their posture and core strength have diminished considerably.
These height-adjustable wobble chairs support student posture, which encourages students to rely on their core to sit up straight, subsequently requiring them to build their core strength.
Additionally, these chairs will provide our students with the stimulation they need to maintain focus while working. These chairs are versatile and allow for variations of height to accommodate every child. By using these chairs I hope to help reverse the decline in core strength that has occurred due to remote learning.
