My Students

Our class is made up of two teachers, two paraprofessionals, and 29 students in a fourth grade integrated co-teaching class. We have general education students as well as special education students, so we have a wide range of performance levels in our classroom.

Our neighborhood is comprised of low income families, and many of our students live in public housing.

One hundred pecent of our students receive free lunch, and quite a few of our students are currently living in homeless shelters. Our small school is located in the neighborhood of Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York, and we are a Title I school. We are aware that many of our students are performing below grade level, so we need a variety of resources to meet their needs.

My Project

At the beginning of the year, not every student in our class started off the year with a backpack full of supplies.

Our students need basic supplies to help us get through our everyday activities/class assignments, and they depend on us to supply them.

We have RUN OUT. We need to help keep our students motivated and feeling confident, and we can do this by providing them the supplies they need to get them through their day. We simply need everyday essential materials such as white paper, colored paper, glue, pencils, and dry erase markers to make our work brighter and stick longer!
