This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have very special, needy students in my Integrated Co-Teaching class. We are a Title 1 funded school. The disabilities affecting my students range from speech and language to autism. They just don't have the resources available that they need. I have a wonderful class. They are learning to work together, be more creative, be more independent, and have a more positive outlook on life. My amazing students come in to school everyday with an eagerness to learn something new. They are curious, funny, charming, and hard working. They motivate me to be a better teacher and I always want to make sure they have everything they need to make learning fun. To keep my students inspired I want them to have a color printer to bring their amazing projects to life. Every year they produce graphic novels and a color printer will make all the difference.
My Project
My students need a printer with ink cartridges. This will help my students because they can quickly copy papers they need. A copier is also a great way for me to make last minute changes to any lesson plans. Students can copy work from their notebooks to display on bulletin boards. Students will be able to scan their work and post it on the SmartBoard for their classmates to see. The scanner will also let me incorporate resources from educational books. I can scan pages from read alouds so students can help me highlight important areas that pertain to the lesson.
