Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As students grow and face new challenges, it's crucial to provide them with tools and resources that support both their emotional well-being and focus. That’s why I’m seeking your help in creating a wellness space within our classroom. This designated area will serve as a calming retreat where students can engage in activities that promote mindfulness, relaxation, and emotional regulation.
The wellness space will include sensory toys, fidget items, snacks, and supplies for creative projects like making beaded necklaces.
These activities will help students manage stress, stay grounded, and develop coping strategies, which are especially important in today’s fast-paced world.
What the wellness space will offer:
Sensory Toys and Fidgets: These tools provide tactile stimulation and can help students manage anxiety, focus better, and calm their minds. Items like stress balls, tactile toys, and sensory brushes are perfect for those who need to fidget to stay engaged.
Snacks: Sometimes, all students need is a quick snack to recharge and refocus. A variety of healthy snacks will be available in the wellness space for students to enjoy during a short break.
Beads for Necklaces: Crafting is a powerful tool for relaxation and self-expression. Beads will allow students to create necklaces, fostering creativity and offering a meditative, calming activity for those who enjoy making things with their hands.
