Coping Mechanisms

Help me give my students items to assist them with many things. The tablet will be put to great use as an alternate way for students to complete assignments in my office if the classroom is a distraction.

My Project

I wanted to create a safe space for my students. Many high school students amongst others, deal with a lot of stressors inside and outside of school. As their counselor, I would like to help assist them with identifying their triggers as well as developing coping mechanisms to help reduce any distressing emotions.

Some items I chose to order were stress relief balls, mini-inspirational journals, motivational signs, and what else do students like?

Snacks. The stress relief balls

can be used as a way to help students relax and give them an outlet for any anxiety, they may be experiencing. The mini-inspirational journals can be used when students are overthinking or have a lot or their minds. It can even be used if a student does not want to verbally speak at the moment. The journals can help student process their thoughts and emotions. I also ordered some fidget spinners to help students concentrate.
