This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a variety of intellectual students from Gifted, English Language Learners, Exceptional student population, and everything in between. My students are inquisitive and love hands-on activities. Due to COVID-19, our school has been closed since March 13th. It has been a difficult transition for my physical education classes to use a variety of online platforms to engage them in distance learning. Many of my students have expressed being lonely due to the stay at home orders. Besides the physical portion of my class, I also focus on coping skills and my students' mental health.

Let me stay connected with my students by creating inspiring and uplifting personalized gifts to show I care.

My Project

Many of my students have been working hard since we started distance learning. However, I also have many students struggling to complete assignments because they still seek that human connection to cope through this difficult time of not seeing their classmates, teachers, and friends. My project will allow me to create uplifting, personalized gifts/rewards for my students using the Cricut Explore Air 2 and its accessories particularly for those students struggling including our 8th grade graduating class.

My students will be motivated to complete their academic assignments and/or improve their academic performance because their emotional needs will also be met.

Let me improve their emotional well-being by reaching out to my students with personalized cards, quotes, decals, posters and more. The sky's the limit in terms of projects I can complete to make that connection and allow them to shine academically, socially and emotionally.

Once we return to school, this machine will continue to motivate my students by creating classroom decor, bulletin boards, rewards, and dance t-shirts/costumes.
