My Students
My students are from the inner city of Washington, D.C.! The school has more than 80% of its students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. We are a school that strives to serve low-income families to the fullest extent.
Every day that my students walk into the room, we are reminded to leave our worries at the door and get ready to learn.
We love to dance and sing. We love listening to characters take on new adventures and we love making connections to the world around us!
My Project
The stand and write magnetic board is a great way for students to work together in a station and interact with letters, sight words, numbers and mathematical concepts. My students would use the station materials to build sight words and number sentences together. They can take turns checking each their sight words as they use the lowercase letters to build them. They can also use the pictures cards to count the amount of items in their number sentence. This station is appropriate for their size and can be used daily within the classroom.
