Cooperative Learning and Creative Writing!

Help me give my students memorable cooperation and writing experiences. Buckets/shovels will be used at a park to create a sand castle village and write about it in their personal writing kits. All 4 classes will benefit.

My Students

Our school is a Title I school. We have many children that are from low-income families that were greatly impacted by Covid-19 financially, educationally, and emotionally. As teachers, we are trying to fill gaps in their education with joy in learning.

My Project

We will take our buckets and shovels on a field trip to a local sand park to create a massive sandcastle village, then children will each receive their own journal pack with supplies to write about their experience. These journals will go home at the end of the year to encourage more writing. Other supplies will be used to motivate reading and writing. Art supplies for social emotional health are included as well. The beach balls will become a memory of our year as each student signs them for each other.
