Cool Water Refreshes Young Minds

My Students

I teach middle school English, history and study skills and find myself inspired by my students every day. They want very much to reach academic success. They express hope for their futures and recognize their role in staying on the path that leads the way.

The students I teach live and work in a beautiful sunny valley in Eastern San Diego.

The students know the connection between school attendance and academic success and are committed to achieving perfect attendance. Last year, our daily attendance was above 98%!

My Project

The warm weather at my students' school can be quite distracting at times. Hot, flushed faces clamor into my classroom, ready to learn but needing to cool off.

If my young scholars could drink cool fresh water when the temperatures rise, it would refresh not only their bodies but their minds.

A water dispenser in my classroom will allow me to provide a free refreshment alternative to the cold drinks being sold in vending machines. Both students and teachers would benefit from the healthy aspects of cool water, and then, students could concentrate on their academic pursuits free from distraction.
