This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As part of our daily life skills and financial literacy curriculum, I aim to equip my special need students with practical skills that will support their independence and vocational readiness. To further enhance this program, I propose the addition of a classroom refrigerator.
The classroom refrigerator will play a crucial role in teaching students food management, health and safety practices, and responsibility through hands-on learning experiences.
The primary purpose of having a refrigerator in the classroom is to integrate shopping and budgeting, food preparation, storage, and management into our life skills activities.
Some key benefits include: food storage and safety, meal preparation, time and task management, vocational skills development. The refrigerator will be seamlessly integrated into various aspects of our life skills curriculum, including: Daily Routine Planning where my special need students will plan and prepare meals and snacks to practice and foster independent daily life skills.
