My Project
What makes my student athletes special is their determination and teamwork. Many come from underserved backgrounds, yet they balance academics with the demands of basketball, football, or cheerleading practice. They show up ready to work hard—both in the classroom and on the field or court—when given opportunities that connect learning to their real lives.
An ice maker will serve a practical purpose for athletes after school and enhance science instruction.
First, it will give athletes access to ice for recovery and injury prevention during practices and provide a source for cold water. Second, it will provide a consistent, hands-on resource for exploring key concepts like phase changes, thermal energy, and states of matter. With reliable access to ice, students can conduct labs involving melting, freezing, and temperature changes—turning abstract textbook lessons into real, memorable experiments. This dual benefit helps bridge their academic learning with their physical training needs.
