Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are teenagers with different abilities and learning levels. Their differences do not stop their desire to show up everyday and learn. These scholars come to school and get eight hours to escape harsh realities at home. They work extremely hard and overcome so much adversity on a day to day basis.
They deserve my best effort in addition to a comfortable learning environment.
They show up and exhibit resiliency and don't let the Sped labels define them.
My Project
My students deserve a cool, comfortable environment where the air flows freely. The lessons are rigorous and challenging and I realize it's hard to concentrate on what you are reading when you are hot and sweating. Our lack of cool air has had a negative impact on our learning and desire to want to sit in the classroom for an hour. I want to change the situation quickly so that it doesn't impact their grades. With fans on both sides of the classroom and a cool fridge, they benefit from a comfortable learning space.
Placing the fans on opposite ends of my classroom will allow all my students a chance to cool down.
I'm looking forward to cooling down the class and turning up the learning.
