Cool Down Corner for Self-Regulation!

Help me give my students a Cool Down Corner for Self-Regulation. Help me give my students a safe space in my classroom for social-emotional learning.

My Project

I teach students from a multitude of social, environmental, and financial backgrounds. Many students in my class have difficulty facing adversity throughout the school day. I believe that having a specific space where students can unwind and learn how to self-regulate will decrease many outbursts and misbehaviors in class. A cool-down corner will also help students with their social-emotional learning, they will be able to read books geared toward social-emotional learning as well as use different tools and manipulatives to help them regulate their behavior.

Having a cool-down corner would be especially beneficial for certain students that often get overwhelmed with the learning environment and need to take breaks.

This would be a great alternative to having them go out in the hallway. Please help me make the cool-down corner a reality for my fourth-grade students!
