My Students
How great would it be to learn about helping the Earth when you're young? When kids throw things out, they don't always understand that there is a finite amount of space for trash in the world. This will be a wonderful tool to help them find solutions to the landfill issues.
My students come from all kinds of homes; their parents might be professionals, like doctors and lawyers or they might be farmers or laborers or they might be looking for work and unable to find any.
We live in a rural community, far from any large, urban areas.
My Project
These students are excited about learning! They are always excited about science and learning new concepts. I hope to help them understand that every little bit that they do to help the earth they live on can make a difference. This composting bin will lead to many discussions about trash and how we are becoming too reliant on disposable products. I can hardly wait!!
This project is important to my students and their future as consumers and members of a productive and caring world.
This may plant a seed for them to talk to parents and family members and maybe it will spark an interest that will grow with them and they will become composters in the future.
