My Project
Our goal is to fill our life skills kitchen with all of the cooking/baking items needed to teach food prep skills! We have 7 classes of students with autism and other developmental and physical disabilities that would benefit from direct instruction in a real life setting. We will teach measuring, cooking, baking, and safety safety skills in our classroom and then reinforce them in an actual kitchen! Our students need repeated, hands-on instruction in order to gain the skills needed for their future independent living. Our students truly need these resources to support their progress with functional academics! This project will help our students gain the skills to cook for themselves, learn potential future job skills, and develop functional math and literacy skills in a meaningful way.
