My Students
My students are amazing kids that love to learn and be outdoors! These students have banded together to form a garden club and create their wish list of supplies in order to start an organic garden! They are innovative, inspiring and passionate about gardening and organic produce! They each have picked their favorite vegetables and herbs and researched them in order to present a request to our school administration to form a regulated club! As a result of their efforts, they now have an officially recognized garden club. Their hard work and creativity is limitless and exciting to see!
My Project
This terrific group of students has dreamed up an organic vegetable and herb school garden. They have worked tirelessly to create blueprints of their ideas and pick various vegetables and herbs that they would like to grow. They have submitted applications for a garden club and this past year were awarded a club recognition! Now, they need these materials to take their inspirational ideas and make them a reality! With these materials, our students will be able to start their organic garden with the vegetables and herbs that they are the most interested in growing! We have requested the seeds that represented those plants in this project. Also, we have requested a cart and a scale for the garden to assist with the harvesting and recording of garden data.
The garden to table concept will be emphasized by the amazing cookbooks that we've requested!
These will enlighten our young students and help them to create and implement healthy recipes in our cooking class at school! Students will be able to eat the organic produce from the garden and learn how to prepare it themselves! This amazing project will enable these young students to learn more about organic healthy foods, and they will in turn be able to share that information with our local community!
These students will be able to watch vegetables and herbs grow, learn about these complex processes and record the data they see into their composition note books. Then, they will be able to harvest the healthy foods and take them into our school kitchen and turn these items into a delicious and healthy food item for them to enjoy!
