This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are a diverse and curious group who love learning about different cultures and traditions. They are eager to explore hands-on experiences that make learning memorable and meaningful.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, I am requesting crockpots to help us prepare traditional foods as part of our classroom festivities.

Food is a central part of Lunar New Year celebrations, symbolizing prosperity, togetherness, and new beginnings. With crockpots, we can safely and easily prepare dishes like dumplings, rice, or soups that connect our students to the cultural traditions of this holiday.

By incorporating cooking into our lesson plans, students will learn about the significance of food in Lunar New Year celebrations while enjoying a sensory, interactive experience. Sharing these dishes together will also foster a sense of community and deepen their appreciation for cultural diversity.

This project will bring the rich traditions of Lunar New Year to life for our students. It will not only provide a hands-on learning experience but also create opportunities to discuss the importance of food in culture and family traditions.
