Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At SAS, a Title I alternative high school, I work with students who are often facing significant life challenges. Many of them are overcoming personal, academic, or social obstacles and benefit from hands-on, real-world learning experiences that build both confidence and essential life skills.
In my Food Science and Independent Living classes, students gain practical knowledge they can use immediately and long after graduation—from planning and preparing healthy meals to managing personal finances and making informed decisions.
